To celebrate this symbiotic planet,
Chew and spit grains to convert their starch into sugar,
Leave the liquid to ferment by wild yeast in the air,
Get drunk on the alcohol brewed with your saliva.

The bottles were used by Sutela for a fermentation workshop with the aim to make alcohol based on the saliva of a group of people. The inspiration for this project comes from the history of mouth-chewed sake (kuchikamizake) in Japan. The shape of the bottles is based on a particular kind of biomimetic ‘flowform’ that produces rhythms similar to blood flow in the drink when it’s poured.
