Novo Nordisk published the present material between 1967 and 1970. It served as promotional material to potential buyers of their products, such as insulin, antidepressants, antibiotics and penicillin.

One set of five folders features work by Emil Nolde. Another set of five folders features work by the danish graphic artist Marcel Rasmussen. And two sets of single sheets respectively features cave paintings from Lascaux in southern France and paintings from ancient Egypt.
